5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic book … highly recommended for aspiring entrepreneurs, September 23, 2013ByThis review is from: Shortcut to Prosperity: 10 Entrepreneurial Habits and a Roadmap for an Exceptional Career (Hardcover)It deserves each of the 5 stars. An easy to read book that can be very useful for almost anybody from a high school student to an aspiring entrepreneur. The book vitally recognizes that the definition of prosperity varies across individuals and that the destination is not achieved without support from others.
Here are the reasons why I strongly recommend this book:
1. Solid framework: There are just three overarching areas of focus supported by 10 “shortcuts”. The book is comprehensive, while focusing on the things that really matter for entrepreneurial success and prosperity. As a reader I easily come away with a good understanding of what my next steps should be in each of the areas.
2. Motivating: The “regular” people examples (as opposed to insanely prosperous ones) motivate you and leave you with the feeling – I can do this as well. The clear straightforward points make their mark with the reader.
3. Practical: The book acknowledges the need for hard work and the potential need to iterate on the “prosperity cycle” despite disappointments better known as learning moments. The points made in the book are well supported by real-life examples. Mark Hopkins has not limited the book to his personal journey to prosperity, which is very insightful in itself, but has made the effort to extensively research the topic so that his writings are generally useful.
